Isimo Somhlaba Piece

Size Guide

Isimo Somhlaba (meaning the condition of the land) inspired by one of the first studies that were conducted based on bead excavations that took place in uMgungundlovu in KZN, which was the capital of the Zulu kingdom during the reign of King Dingane. These excavations which relate to the period between (1828 to 1839) were done by Roger Summers who was a Zimbabwean archaeologist.

Reading up on these excavations inspired designs of a range of neckpieces through imagining what the landscape looked like way back in those days.
